Pictured is Mark's best friend, Rick Ball, and his nephew. Rick, and his wife Dianne, have no children of their own but have "adopted" their many nieces and nephews, as well as, a couple of friend's kids as their own. Rick is the most giving and generous person I know.
Today Rick is undergoing a kidney transplant at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. For years Rick has battled with diabetes that has left him with alot of health problems and finally got his kidneys. After months of dialysis Rick is getting a second chance when a very generous person gives him a kidney today.
I wish so much today that my husband could be there. However due to work, distance, and numerous other things I know that is not possible. I also know that today Mark will go with a heavy heart worrying about him.
Rick is the total opposite of my husband. Where Mark is quiet..Rick is loud and boisterous, where Mark is humble....Rick in a kind way will tell you what he has achieved. Where Mark likes to be home in his own little comfy world...Rick will go anywhere at a moments notice. But together the yin and yang of those two has been unavoidable. Best friends since they were college roommates, Rick is a strong influence in my husbands life. He also is kinda of "hero" in Mark's world. See Rick has been a professional drummer. He played for years with Truth, for Christian and Country music stars, at shows around the world. He fulfilled that little boy dream that most little boys have....being the drummer in the band. Rick has always in some way shared those experiences with Mark.
Today my heart and prayers are with Rick and his family. I look forward to him making a complete recovery and being back at those drums soon. We love you, Uncle Rick.
