My 16 year old told me, in a way only a 16 year old can, that this was the worst looking tree she had ever seen. After accepting her opinion, and she often has alot of them to accept, I decided I disagreed with her. Because this is probably not really that "pretty" in terms of Southern Living or all those blogs out there on decorating, but this hold MEMORIES for me and this year that means alot. This tree holds every ornament our family has made, been given or collected. There is the ornaments made by my daughters in elem school. The ornaments lovingly bought for them as a baby and all the years there after. The first Christmas ornament for our family. I can also look at this tree and see the ornaments that every exchange student we have had has given us..some with messages, some with just pictures. There are the ornaments from places we have been over the years both as a family and alone. And there are ornaments that let me see the faces of the many other people that have touched our lives and hearts, and the small gift they have given us. Yes this tree is full of memories.
So no it isn't a pretty tree...it is a BEAUTIFUL tree. A tree full of love, hopes, fun and memories. And that above all makes this tree all the more special.
